His Father and Mother
Matthew’s birth was the marvelous thing that could have occurred to his parents, who had been trying for seven years. His father, Michael, and mother, Barbara, initially met on a blind date in October 1957. Three months later, in 1958, they exchanged wedding vows. Barbara wrote shortly after his birth, “Matthew meant everything to us and will always mean everything to us.”
Happiness again arrived at their door when she became pregnant with her second kid. However, everything changed for the husband and wife when the doctor informed them of an issue. The infant died shortly after birth. This irreparably damaged their relationship, and they eventually divorced.
